Calling All Volunteers...

Updated: Jul 7

At Friends of the Broadway, we believe in the transformative power of community. Our mission to preserve and enhance the Broadway Cinema for the benefit of the community, wouldn't be possible without the dedication and passion of our incredible volunteers. Today, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you.

But we need more help. We're looking for volunteers to fill the roles below.

Finance Director (Board/Trustee Appointment)

Over the past 12 months or so we have been hard at work getting all our accounts in order and on to the accounting package Xero.  We’re now ready to move forward with everything nicely organised.  The Finance Director role will have oversight of all finance matters, liaise with our accountants, and take forward projects like VAT registration and gift aid.  The finance director will have an important role in ensuring we remain compliant with our finance and funding requirements.

Book-keeper

We are really keen to welcome a volunteer bookkeeper who can help us manage our day-to-day finance operations. Things like record keeping, payment of invoices, expenses, and so forth.

Membership Secretary

We’re about to launch a new membership system and increase our member-base.  This requires someone to report into the board on our current membership status, manage membership reminders and renewals, and generally keep the member records up to date.

Website Developer

A fantastic opportunity for someone to help us upgrade our busy website with a redesign and new functionality.

Social Media Officer

We’re are super keen to involve someone with social media expertise to help us with things like content creation, TikTok, and work with our marketing experts to grow this aspect of the charity.

Trainee Projectionists and Event Roadies

We are always on the look out for people to help in restoring and maintaining our cinema equipment, as well as setting up and running shows.  We also have openings for projectionists.  Full training is provided.

As well as the specific roles listed above, we are always looking for volunteers to help us with building-related works (fully supervised) and at our various events, film screenings, and open days. We'd love to welcome new volunteers across the entirety of the project so please do get in touch if you'd like to be part of the team.

The importance of volunteering cannot be overstated. By giving your time and talents, you help foster a sense of community and belonging. You bring together people from all walks of life, united by a common interest and desire to protect this precious piece of Prestwick's history. We hope you can join us!

Fill our short form in here if you're interested in giving us some of your time as a volunteer!
